A quick practical update - trying something different
I’ve really loved hearing from the people who have been able to take the time to write - thank you for sharing your experiments and responses!
I’ve had a couple of pieces of feedback, so I’m tweaking a couple of things a bit this month to see if this structure works better.
I’ve had feedback that the volume of emails feels like too much to keep up with - so rather than sending more frequent, shorter messages, I’ve spaced things out a bit more but included longer email/videos.
I’ve also been told that the video starts playing when you open the email (rather than waiting to press play), which has been an access issue for some folks. I’ve tried to adjust the formatting, so we will see if this sorts out the issue!
In this video…
We’re going deeper into some inspiration for photography with a longer video exploring a few different ideas.
This touches on:
Twyla Tharp’s wisdom on the importance of finding your natural ‘focal length’ as an artist (even if you are not a photographer)
The importance of cultivating our unique point of view
Turning our default settings into a gateway for new possibilities
How stillness can enhance the key creative step for inspiration: noticing
The secret key to taking better photos - why self-trust matters even more than technique
What a series of images really reveals about the artist
A little bonus: letting life’s challenges remind us that limitation can be turned into inspiration
Our next video
Just a heads up that the next video will be a couple of days behind its normally scheduled programming because I’ll be away from my email. But I will be back!
Wishing you wonderful creative adventures in the meantime.
Access Support: If you have access needs that I’m not currently meeting, please do drop me a line! (The best email is contact@ac-smith.com.) I’d really like to make this project available to anyone who wants to participate.
